Accessibility Statement
Everyone deserves a good picnic.
Forest Park Picnics is committed to making our website and our picnic experiences usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We’re a small, local operation — so we appreciate your patience and your feedback as we work to improve.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA wherever we reasonably can. These are the international standards for accessible web content, covering things like screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, color contrast, and alternative text for images.
What we’ve done
- Semantic HTML structure with proper headings, landmarks, and labels
- Keyboard navigation support with a “Skip to main content” link on every page
- Alternative text on meaningful images
- Visible focus indicators for keyboard users
- A responsive layout that works on screen readers and mobile devices
- No auto-playing audio or motion content that could be a problem for vestibular disorders
Where we fall short
We’re honest about this: some of our brand color combinations don’t quite meet the WCAG 4.5:1 contrast ratio for small text. Specifically, our sage-green on cream and our steel-blue on white are close but not perfect. We’re working toward a more accessible palette without losing the warmth that makes us us.
Our booking widgets are provided by a third-party tool (Bókun) and are outside our direct control, though we’ve raised accessibility concerns with them.
